Introduction to the Physiotherapy Program in English
The five-year M.Sc. Physiotherapy program is based on European curriculum with English as the language of instruction. As a professional all-round course in physical therapy, it is thought to provide the graduate with a strong set of competencies and skills required to treat temporary and permanent motor disabilities in patients, using the latest advancements in medicine. It offers four specialty curricular pathways to students: neurological, orthopedic, manual therapy and sports medicine. Graduates can work as members of bigger medical teams in hospitals and medical centers, choose to open their own practice or develop scientific research in the field within the academic context
Candidates for this program may be accepted after demonstrating a necessary record of academic achievement in Biology and English; and after passing an interview with PUMS Admissions Committee.
Tuition and fees for incoming students accepted in the academic year 2018/2019
The expenses for INCOMING Physiotherapy students are estimated as follows:
TUITION FEE
Tuition of 42 700 PLN:
First part of the tuition fee (down payment) in the amount of 3 000 PLN payable by June 30, 2018 or date indicated in the acceptance letter (setting the payment is the condition for being enrolled on the student list)
Second part of the tuition fee payable in two installments:
– 1st installment payable by September 30, 2018 19 850 PLN
– 2nd installment payable by February 15, 2019 19 850 PLN
Tuition fee for the following study years can be changed by the University by no more than 5% in relation to the previous year, and the Student will be informed by the University about the change no later than by the end of March of the given year.
Admission to the 5-year Physiotherapy Program
ADMISSIONS 2018/2019
Application deadline: JULY 31, 2018.
General requirements:
- Secondary school degree or equivalent credentials at a high enough level to be eligible for admission to a university in home country.
- High level of knowledge in natural sciences, and high proficiency in English language.
- Satisfactory grades in biology from previous education (secondary school, college or university).
- Citizenship other than Polish or dual citizenship, including Polish and foreign.
- Interview examination in biology.
- Physical fitness and aptitude towards intensive physical training.
Formal requirements*:
A. To be attached with the on-line application (digitally scanned copies):
2) Secondary school transcript (-s) and transcripts for other attended education programs including natural science coursework (e.g. biology, chemistry or physics),
3) Passport bio page for identification,
4) Any other documents you would like the admission staff to review before your entrance examination.
B. To be submitted after successful entrance examination (hard copies of original documents or certified copies):
5) Transcripts of all attended education programs,
6) High school leaving examination certificate or diploma of secondary education that qualifies to undertake higher education studies in country of issue and was issued no earlier than 2012 (An older diploma may be accepted, if the candidate has continued his education beyond the year 2012), with apostille or legalization certificate (depending on the country: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostille_Convention#States_that_are_party_to_the_convention),
7) A recommendation letter on school letterhead from a science faculty member, guidance counselor, principal, or a teacher in another subject area, involved in previous education,
8) Proof of English language proficiency (unless the candidate has completed a secondary or post-secondary school program in English):
- TOEFL
- Paper-based test: min. 550 points,
- Internet-based test: min. 79 points,
- Computer-based test: min. 213 points,
- IELTS, min. 6.5 points,
- Cambridge Examination: Advanced (CEA) or Proficiency (CPE) level,
- Candidates who completed their previous education in Scandinavia:
- Norway: min. grade in English in secondary school: 4,
- Sweden: min. grade in English in secondary school: VG or C,
- Denmark: min. grade in English in secondary school: 7.
9) Health certificate completed by a physician
10) A recent photo (3.5 x 4.5 cm),
11) Copy of passport bio page,
12) Curriculum vitae/resumé,
13) Optional: standardized test results for ACT, SAT, DAT, or upper-secondary school credentials, e.g. A/AS-levels, Highers, etc.,
C. To be submitted upon the start of studies:
14) Copy of vaccination records, incl. Hepatitis B,
15) Proof of health insurance valid in Poland (EHIC for EU citizens),
16) Copy of a student visa or other document confirming that the stay in Poland is legal,
17) Certificate of equivalence of secondary school diploma, issued by Chief Education Officer of the Wielkopolska province in Poland – to be submitted by the end of the first semester of studies (unless recognition is automatic, based on international agreements).
*All documents must be in English or with a certified translation to English.
